Hello, and a big thank you for your interest in the…
What’s New In WordPress 6.9 Mini-Series.
Welcome to the last major release of WordPress in 2025!
Hello there, WordPress 6-9, and welcome to everyone who wants to see what you are bringing to our websites this time!
Seriously, though, this “major” WordPress release contains some new blocks, a couple of feature upgrades, and a bunch of updates and bug fixes.
WordPress 6.9 lands with a steady mix of collaboration tools, creative upgrades, and a few “finally” moments many of us have been waiting on.
You’ll see the new Notes system for block-level commenting, perfect for teams or, honestly, for leaving yourself reminders when your brain checks out for the day. The update also brings block hiding for cleaner editing, a native accordion block for FAQs and content sections, stretchy text for auto-fitting headlines and paragraphs, and a slick “Time to Read” block you can drop right into your posts. There’s a new Terms Query block for pulling in categories and custom taxonomies on the fly, plus a Math block for anyone who actually needs to show formulas instead of faking them.
And for the power users, the command palette now works everywhere, drag-and-drop feels more visual, and performance gets another lift across the board . It’s a practical, everyday-quality release that smooths out your workflow without forcing you to relearn everything.
Okay, enough of my rambling on. Let us have a look at the titles and times of each video in this new mini-series.
